Cougars Close Season Winning Both Games of Doubleheader

Baseball Ends Hot with Victories in Five of Last Six 

(Holyoke, MA) - Men's baseball closed out their season in impressive fashion on Saturday, winning both games of their home doubleheader against regional opponent Roxbury CC. The Cougars played tremendous baseball down the stretch, earning victories in five of their final six games of the year. On Saturday, Holyoke won game one 5-2 before a 6-3 victory in game two. 

Alex Gochinski (Greenfield, MA / Frontier Regional HS) led the way in the first game, hitting a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate. He drove in two RBIs and scored a run. Daniel Gauvin (Granby, MA / Granby HS) batted a perfect 4 for 4 in game two. He hit two doubles and scored a run. Leyron Perez (Santiago de los Cabelleros / Sci-Tech HS) hit 3 for 4 in the second game, tallying a run and an RBI. TJ Thibeault (Greenfield, MA / Greenfield HS) was the winning pitcher in the first game and Mason Barcomb (West Springfield, MA / Agawam HS) won game two. Both pitchers threw for a complete game in their victory. Thibeault tossed six strikeouts while Mason registered three. 

Men's baseball ends their season with a 6-12 regional record and a 6-24 overall record. Five of their six wins came over the final six games of the season. Holyoke will graduate three sophomores and they hope to have all of this year's freshmen back for the 2025 season. Let's go Cougars!
