Women’s Hoop Hops Into Season
Lady Cougars Start Campaign
(Holyoke, MA / Boston, MA) – Women's basketball got their season underway, playing a pair of regional games last week. The Lady Cougars opened up at home before traveling for game two. Holyoke looked sharp and played well in both games despite falling short of victory.
Christina Pereira (Warren, MA / Pathfinder Regional HS) and Desiree Doane (New Salem, MA / Franklin Technical HS) both put forth strong performances for the Cougars. Pereira led the team in points in both contests, scoring 14 in the most recent game while shooting 4 for 4 from the free throw line. Doane led the Cougars in steals and assists in both games and brought down a team-high 11 rebounds in the away game.
Women's basketball is 0-2 overall and regionally. They look to match up very evenly against several of their upcoming opponents and will work hard to compete for wins. Let's go Cougars!
