
Cougars Earn Comeback Victory
Men's Soccer Rallies at Home
(Holyoke, MA) - Men's soccer came back from a 1-0 and 2-1 deficit to earn a 4-2 win over regional opponent Mass Bay CC on Wednesday afternoon. The Cougars battled, playing with determination, and would not be denied the home victory.
Sleiden Edmorin (Springfield, MA / Tech Boston Academy) led the way offensively, scoring a pair of goals while assisting another. Edmorin knotted the game at two a piece with his first tally, a calmly converted penalty kick, before burying the game winner in the 66th minute. Goalkeeper Benjamin Giroux (East Longmeadow, MA / East Longmeadow HS) had two assists, setting up the game winning goal and the insurance marker with his punt. Jonathan Rafael (Palmer, MA / Palmer HS) scored Holyoke's first goal and Niamke Akpayne (Chicopee, MA / Chicopee Comprehensive HS) tallied the last.
Men's soccer improves to 1-1-2 overall and 1-1-1 regionally with the win. They will travel for their next two contests before returning home to square off against local rival Springfield Technical CC on Saturday, October 7th at 4pm. Let's go Cougars!
