Cougars Claim Regional Road Win

Baseball Impressive in Comeback Victory

(Boston, MA) - Men's baseball batted their way to an impressive regional road win on Wednesday, defeating Bunker Hill CC 12-11. Trailing 7-2 after five innings, the Cougars rallied, driving in ten runs in the final four innings to earn the comeback victory. Holyoke was strong at the plate, registering 16 hits in the contest.

Daniel Gauvin (Granby, MA / Granby HS), Travis Kagan (Chicopee, MA Chicopee Comprehensive HS) and Leyron Perez (Santiago de los Cabealleros / Sci-Tech HS) led the charge for the Cougars. Gauvin and Kagan each went 4 for 5 at the plate and Perez went 3 for 5. Gauvin tallied a stellar five RBIs. Perez and Kagan each drove in an RBI and Perez had three runs while Kagan had two. TJ Thibeault (Greenfield, MA / Grenfield HS) earned the complete game victory, his second of the year, throwing five strikeouts.

Holyoke is 2-11 in the region and 2-23 overall. They play five more regional games this season and still hold a slim mathematical chance to qualify for postseason. They will host doubleheaders on May 3rd and 4th, beginning at 1pm. Let's go Cougars!
