Baseball Gains Early Season Experience

Baseball Gains Early Season Experience

Cougars on the Diamond in March

(Middletown, NJ / Davenport, FL) Cougars baseball opened their season with a southbound road trip during last week's spring break. The trip consisted of five away games, four of which were played at the RussMatt Invitational Tournament in Davenport, Florida. The Cougars opened the trip and their season with a stop in Middletown, New Jersey to square off against Brookdale CC before continuing South. Holyoke played against teams from throughout the country at the RussMatt Invitational.

Early season game experience is invaluable in baseball, especially for NJCAA teams playing in the New England region. The Cougars will benefit tremendously from these mid-March games and hope the experience helps them succeed as they move into the regional part of their schedule.

Holyoke was, unfortunately, unable to secure a win during their first five games but positively scored 22 runs during the middle three contests while gaining tons of game experience. The Cougars are 0-5 overall and 0-0 regionally. They will play their home opener and first regional game on Thursday, March 23rd (postponed to Friday, March 24th) at 3:30 against Bunker Hill CC. Let's go Cougars!
